Taking a photo is an act of choice. Regardless of the environment I am with my camera at hand, at the moment of pressing the shutter, I am deciding.
I decide to search for beauty or for ugliness; to address tough issues, or to turn a blind eye on them.
Through interpretation I have no restrictions to choose, I can even create options that were not there.
At the moment of pressing the shutter, definitely I choose, but after I print the photo, and take a look at it, I make choices also: how it is going to make me feel? Which memories is it going to bring? What do I think was going on there?
The photo will stay the same as time goes by, but the thoughts that it will cross my mind will change when I see it ten or twenty years after.
